National Congress
National Congress is the peak representative body of Engineers Australia, and comprises around 50 delegates. It has specific powers and is comprised of delegates representing the various units and groups of Engineers Australia such as Divisions and Colleges.
National Congress meeting 2008
National Congress conducted its annual meeting in November 2008 and
- Elected the 2009 National Deputy President, the National Vice President of Finance and two Councillors
- Reviewed the consultation program leading up to development of a strategic plan for 2010-15
- Reviewed key programs and Council actions of 2008
- Reviewed the outcomes of the 2008 special committees of Council
- Formed a special committee to advise on the desirability of a review of the Bye-laws
- Made recommendations to Council on the formation of special committees in 2009 to address issues of migrant engineer support, electronic service delivery and Congress engagement
Following the November 2008 meeting, a special committee of National Congress prepared a report and recommendation concerning the Royal Charter and Bye-laws, for consideration by Congress in 2009-10.
