National Committee on Construction Engineering (NCCE)

1. Public role and professional standing

  • NCCE participated in Australian Construction Achievement Award committee. Monthly committee meetings, held Launch function and award function which was held in Sydney with 433 attendees. The winning entrant was the EastLink Thiess John Holland Joint Venture. Great feedback on the night.
  • NCCE members have an ongoing role in the 2010 committee. Members involved are Michael Ward (Chair) and Peter Stewart.

2. An inclusive professional team

  • Presentation series in Sydney Melbourne and Brisbane have been hugely successful with high rates of attendance and excellent feedback.
  • A further series presenting the ACAA finalists is being prepared.

3. Youth appeal

  • Younger members attend seminars.

4. Chartered Status

  • Contribution made to CCB in regard to construction engineering assessment criteria.

5. Continuing professional development

  • The ACAA committee has offered EA the opportunity to promote the technical content of the finalists.
  • NCCE proposes to have the technical content presented in a series of regional seminars related to the project location and convened by the state representatives of NCCE.

  • Involvement of local panels in EA / ACA meetings.

  • Two teleconferences and one face to face meeting held.
  • Monthly meetings with ACA in relation to the Australian Construction Achievement Award.
