National Panel on Nanoengineering (NPNE)

1. Public role and professional standing

  • Panel member Clive Davenport led Australian Delegation to the World Nano Tech 2009 Expo in Japan in Feb 2009.
  • The Panel organised a series of open seminars and lectures to the public and the EA membership in the past year, in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
  • The Panel has established strategic partnership with ANBF, and enjoys good relations with Australian Synchrotron, Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (UQ), Very Small Particle Company Pty. Ltd, etc..

2. An inclusive professional team

  • The Panel has invited two new expert members: Professor Joe Shapter of the University of South Australia and Associate Professor Hoe Tan of the Australian National University.

  • The Panel has been very active in the past year organising several public lectures, seminars and network functions jointly with Australia Nano Business Forum or by itself in several state capita cities in both public arena and EA venues, including EA headquarter lecture in Perth, Public seminar networking event in Brisbane and Melbourne, and a forthcoming seminar at EA venue in Sydney.
  • The Panel has established spectrum connections and liaises with ANBF, Australian Synchrotron, and the private sector.

  • Panel Chair Yinong Liu joined the International Advisory Committee of the International Symposium on Functional Materials.
