Maintenance Engineering Society of Australia (MESA)
I am pleased to present my first Annual Report as the incoming National Chair of the Maintenance Engineering Society of Australia (MESA), trading as the Asset Management Council.
The Asset Management Council has been working strongly to improve services and information for its members and the broader asset management community, through an improved website, monthly newsletter, and the Asset Journal, also available online.
Membership and Finances
Asset management and maintenance engineering practice continue to gain importance at all levels of enterprisemanagement, and our membership continues to grow slowly, now exceeding 1,200. The audited statement for 2008 was released in May, and isavailable on the website.
Continuing Professional Development
During 2008-09, the Asset Management Council held over 10 sessions of the training course Asset Management Fundamentals across Australia, with more than 270 attendees, in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide. The annual conference ICOMS was held 1-5 June 2009, Sydney. While participation was slightly down, the conference was still well attended.
