Manufacturing Society of Australia (ManSA)

mansa logoThe last year has been a rough ride for the manufacturing industry in general and ManSA has suffered somewhat. Nevertheless, the society has a very positive balance sheet and traded profitably last year.

Our involvement with the Endeavour awards run by Manufacturer’s Monthly has continued and once again there has been a noticeable improvement in the quality and innovative performance of the applicants.

The breakfast session at the National Manufacturing Week in Melbourne was a great success with a full house of over 50 people attending. This was jointly sponsored by Enterprise Connect and Blakemore Consulting International. Reed Business, the organisers, allowed ManSA to chair the panel discussions that followed and this was regarded so highly that it will be repeated and recorded on video next year in Sydney.

Numerous discussions with key active members in Melbourne have taken place to consolidate a strategy for development. Since my term of office has now come to an end, the new National President Roger La Brooy will no doubt be in touch with members to explain the way forward.

I would like to thank all those who share my passion for the manufacturing industry and in particular those who attended the think tanks in Melbourne and Sydney.

Dr John Blakemore
President
